Day 1: Arrival and Light Exploration

Afternoon:

Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum: Visit this historic site dedicated to Ghana's first president, situated in beautiful gardens and featuring historical artefacts.

Makola Market: Visit a vibrant local market where you can experience the daily hustle and bustle of Ghanaian life. 

Evening/Night:

Dinner: Enjoy a welcome dinner at your hotel or a local restaurant, savouring Ghanaian specialities like jollof rice, fried plantains, and grilled tilapia. 

Day 2: Cultural and Historical Tour of Accra

Morning:

Breakfast: Breakfast at the accommodation.

Jamestown and Ussher Fort: Discover Accra's colonial past and colourful street art in this historic district.

Independence Square and Black Star Gate: Visit the landmark symbolising Ghana's independence from British rule.

Afternoon:

Lunch: Enjoy a leisurely lunch at your hotel, sampling local Ghanaian cuisine.

W.E.B. Du Bois Centre: Learn about the life of the Pan-Africanist and his contributions to African liberation.

Accra Arts Centre: Visit a vibrant local market where you can experience the daily hustle and bustle of Ghanaian life. 

Evening/Night:

Dinner: Enjoy dinner at the hotel or a local restaurant, and enjoy a relaxing evening at your hotel. 

Day 3: Cape Coast and Elmina - A Journey Through History

Morning:

Travel to Cape Coast: Depart early and enjoy scenic coastal views along the journey.

Breakfast: Breakfast will be had en route or upon arrival.

Cape Coast Castle: Explore the Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most significant slave castles in Africa.

Afternoon:

Lunch: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, where you can sample authentic Ghanaian cuisine.

Elmina Castle: Explore the oldest European structure in sub-Saharan Africa, with deep historical ties to the transatlantic slave trade.

Elmina Fishing Harbour: Walk along Elmina's fishing harbour, witnessing the vibrant local fishing industry.

Evening/Night:

Overnight Stay: Check in at a beachfront hotel in Cape Coast, where you can relax and enjoy the sunset.

Dinner: Enjoy dinner at the hotel or a local restaurant, and enjoy a relaxing evening at your hotel. 

Day 4: Kakum National Park Adventure

Morning:

Breakfast: Breakfast at the accommodation.

Kakum National Park: Experience the famous Canopy Walkway, a series of suspended bridges high above the rainforest floor. Enjoy panoramic views, bird-watching, and the chance to spot wildlife, including monkeys. Visit the park's visitor centre for information on Ghana's tropical rainforest ecosystems.

Afternoon:

Lunch: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, where you can sample authentic Ghanaian cuisine.

Stingless Bee Centre: Visit the International Stingless Bee Research Centre and Learn about the benefits of honey from stingless bees and their role in traditional medicine.

Return to Accra: Travel back to Accra for an overnight stay.

Evening/Night:

Aburi Botanical Gardens/Woodcarvers' Market: Stopover at Aburi to visit the Aburi Botanical Gardens, a historic and scenic garden featuring lush greenery, ornamental, and indigenous plant collections. Stop at the Woodcarver's Market outside the gardens, where artisans display beautifully carved wooden crafts.

Dinner: Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant in Aburi and continue to Accra. 

Day 5: Volta Region - Waterfalls and Monkey Sanctuary

Morning:

Travel to the Volta Region: Depart early and embark on a journey to the Volta Region. Breakfast will be had en route.

Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary: Start the day's exploration with a visit to the Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary, where you can observe the playful Mona monkeys in their natural habitat and engage with local conservation guides.

Afternoon:

Lunch: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Wli Waterfalls: Hike to Wli Waterfalls, the tallest waterfall in West Africa, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Upon arrival at the falls, relax in the refreshing mist or take a swim in the pool at the base of the cascade.

Evening/Night:

Overnight Stay: Check in at a nature lodge in the Volta Region.

Dinner: Enjoy local Ewe cuisine at the accommodation or a nearby restaurant, and spend a relaxing evening at your lodge. 

Day 6: Kumasi - The Ashanti Kingdom

Morning:

Travel to Kumasi: Depart early and journey to the cultural heart of Ghana, and home to the Ashanti Kingdom. Breakfast will be had en route.

Manhyia Palace Museum: Explore the history of the Ashanti kings and their mighty empire.

Afternoon:

Lunch: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Kumasi Central Market: Visit Kumasi Central Market, one of the largest open-air markets in West Africa, known for textiles, produce, and traditional medicine.

Bonwire Kente Weaving Village: Witness the intricate process of making Ghana's famous Kente cloth.

Evening/Night:

Overnight Stay: Check in at the hotel in Kumasi, where you can relax and enjoy a leisurely evening.

Dinner: Enjoy a traditional Ashanti dish at the accommodation or a local restaurant. 

Day 7: Lake Bosomtwe Eco‑Adventure

Morning:

Travel to Lake Bosomtwe: Depart early and journey to Lake Bosomtwe and check in at a lakeside ecolodge. Breakfast will be had en route or at the accommodation.

Guided canoe paddle: Enjoy a guided canoe paddle on the glassycalm lake and spot kingfishers & tilapia fishers; hear how the Ashanti regard the lake as sacred.

Afternoon:

Lunch: Enjoy lunch at the lodge.

Village and nature experiences: Take a short forest hike to the panoramic Obosonosu Hill for crater‑rim views. Optional: If time permits, take a tour of Abono & Obo villages, meet artisans weaving raffia baskets & brewing palm wine.

Evening/Night:

Overnight Stay: Enjoy an overnight stay at the eco-lodge, where you can take a sunset swim or go stand-up paddleboarding.

Dinner: Enjoy dinner at the accommodation or a local restaurant. 

Day 8: Return to Accra and Departure

Morning:

Breakfast: Enjoy an early breakfast at the accommodation, then depart for Nkawkaw.

Cocoa Farm Visit: Visit a cocoa farm near Nkawkaw, learn about pod harvesting, and taste fresh pulp. Continue to Accra.

Afternoon:

Lunch: Take a break at Bunso Eco Park for lunch, and if time permits, take the canopy walkway to enjoy the breathtaking views of the rainforest. 

Leisure Time: Arrive back in Accra and relax at the hotel lounge with light refreshments before departure to the airport.

Evening:

Departure: Transfer to Kotoka International Airport for your departure.
